Straight to Your Head!

Pasta a la crockpot

This crockpot pasta is a LIFE SAVER!!! I haven’t posted much as I’ve been feeling kind of under the weather, so when my parents offered to babysit for a few days, I jumped at the opportunity!

Little did I know, I was really missing my little road runner, so when he finally came home and I was still feeling bleh, I threw some stuff into my crockpot and 30 minutes later… I made a masterpiece!

Here’s the rough chopped recipe ( keep in mind my measurements are for a family of 3 with a toddler.. so adjust for your own!)

What you will need

  • 2 hot Italian sausages – boiled and sliced
  • 1 chicken breast – cut into 3 and parboiled
  • 1 tomato – chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup of chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 green onion – chopped
  • Teaspoon dry oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 of a bag of pasta.. your choice
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 1 cup of water

Here’s what I did.

Right as I started, I turned my crockpot on.
I put my 2 sausages to boil on the stove
I began chopping my veggies and herbs adding them straight to the crockpot when I was finished.
Do not strain the sausage or discard of the water. Just remove them. My sausages came out and ran them under some cold water to cool down and instantly stop the cooking
While that was cooling, I sliced my chicken into 3 and then I put them into the exact same pot of water my sausages came of out. You just wanted to cook the outside of the chicken.
While my chicken boiled on high for about 2 minutes I sliced up my sausages and added them straight to the crockpot
I removed the chicken from the pot of water and cut it into smaller pieces – again, added it straight to the crockpot
I added in my pasta along with the oregano
I mixed my bouillon cube in a cup of warm water and added that in as well. That is all the water you will need for this
I gave my pot a good mix, incorporating everything and put the lid on.
30 minutes later…. TAADA!! Just taste for salt .. add if needed.

This part is totally optional… I then garnished my pasta with some freshly chopped green onions, parsley and another piece of bell pepper!

Finished product? … VOILA!

Enjoy guys!

You’re not the only mother in the world with a blog ..

So this happened. Some “sexuality coach” saw that I started a blog.

A blog for myself and my family, friends etc. A blog where I post what I want to post because it’s my free space. A blog where I post an occasional recipe here and there because people are always asking me how to make this or how to make that. It’s not professional, and it is more so like a diary – incase you were wondering πŸ™‚

I’m not sure if any of you can relate, but it seems like every time you do something for yourself, somebody has something to say about it and put you down.

My website is that of just a tired, young mother, looking for advice, support, friends etc.

I’m not ripping anyone off. I’m not the only mother out there who is tired, exhausted and almost non functioning. I’m not the only momma out there who wants to share an occasional recipe- mainly for her father in law– not that I don’t love these messages!!

We are in the 21st century people!!!!! This is the internet. There are billions of people out there and millions of people who are mothers, and millions who blog, and post recipes.

I could be rude and hit below the belt the same way this person has posted about me… but I won’t. I completely understand her defending her “business” but … HUNTYY YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY DEFEND YOURSELF FROM THE PEOPLE YOU SEEK COMFORT IN ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS.

I really don’t even need to write this post but its content baby! … But I guess she already knew that ! #clapback

I apologize that she is so worried that my little blog (with less than 10 posts) is going to surpass her rants about sex, masturbation, penis shaped candles etc. I’m sorry that my rant on my skin, hair or even my mother in law is content that I have copied from the sexual addictions blog. I apologize that I sent off my website alongside hers to the staff members at #sunnybrook hospital and they said “nothing is the same” & “you’re food looks better” or the lawyer that told me “you have nothing to worry about”. Yes I spoke to a lawyer, to make sure I was doing nothing wrong.

If I was I would’ve publicly apologized but I think it’s time to reclaim my motivation because let’s be honest here. I was excited to blog, I have posts sitting in my drafts just waiting to be published. But after watching the shade, the subtweets, the posts… wouldn’t you lose your motivation? Wouldn’t you begin to belittle your thoughts and ideas?

But why is it that when people feel threatened by success they have to belittle you and put you down. We should be building each other up! The amount of women out there, that are going through the same things, same stress, the same problems… that’s why I’m writing. And just because some “sexuality coach” feels threatened, does not mean I will stop.

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry you think I actually have all the time in the world to sit down and pick apart your libidinous blog site, and make a version of my own. I apologize that I don’t have any provocative photos of myself on my blog and somehow you still feel I’ve ripped you off. I’m also sorry that you feel as though you’re Rachel Ray or Barefoot Contessa, Martha Stewart and can say that I’ve ripped you off.

I guess that would also mean

Talesofatiredmom.com has ripped her off too, or Latoya forever – who is now a famous YouTuber- or scarymommy.com

I will thank her though, my blog’s publicity has skyrocketed. So all I have to say is…

Keep creeping my site booboo😘

6ix ways to tell if you have a Monster In Law? Find out below

Find out if you need to distance yourself from that toxic bitch that’s unfortunately in your life.

1. She doesn’t respect you She will ignore your every word, every request and every feeling just so she can have her way. She will act like you don’t exist right to your face and behind your back – she will bad mouth the shit outta you. (Or she’ll do it to your face, in Portuguese, thinking you haven’t been picking up on the words)

2. She is controlling She wants to control you and control your life that she has no part of. Unfortunately you put yourself in that situation when you decided to fall in love with her precious spawn. He doesn’t want you to know what she’s been saying so he’ll claim to want no part in the matter. But he’s talking to her and secretly hiding it from you – probably for the sake of the relationship. Gross though

3. She is manipulating She is K N O W N for the guilt trip. She probably invented it. She knows how to manipulate you, your relationship and your family. She’s probably even tried to break up your family 2-3 times (unless she’s planning another one now)

4. She constantly tries to come between your family She feels no ways when it comes to intrusion. She will give her son an ultimatum to choose between the family he came from and the family he created

5. She “helped you out” so everybody needs to know Wether you did her a favour or not, that doesn’t matter. From the moment she did something for you (or your family) she’s been keeping track. She will use it against you – as a guilt trip-or to make you look bad, she will talk about it behind your back, (eventually it will come back to you.. it always does) she will post it on her social media. The bottom line is, that favour? You’ll never forget it because she won’t let you, nor will she let the world forget it.

6. She will not leave you alone EVEN THOUGH she does all these things to you, she still wants you to know that she’s here. She wants you to dread the day she became a part of your life. From spamming messages and phone calls to empty threats. Lemme tell you… she will make you want to rethink your entire plan for her son. Your future, your family. She’s just waiting to say “I won”

If you’re still here I’m sorry. I’m sorry you have to deal with a toxic bitch and I’m even more sorry that she’s apart of your life. Truth be told, it’s time to do you and focus on your family and your goals. Forget about the mamas boy, you can’t raise a man that wasn’t raised to be a man. When the time comes he’ll figure it out. But for now, stay clear of the monster (in-law) under your bed.

Take off the lights and run as fast as you can for cover!

1 Pack of Chicken and 1 Tired Asf Momma

So on Wednesday’s I like to prepare dinner for the next following two days (Thursday and Friday) because I’m in school pretty much all day those days. By the time I get home it’s like late in the afternoon or I’ve been stuck in traffic long enough to think it’s late afternoon. It’s not that I don’t cook during the rest of the week, ( I am guilty for takeout ) it’s just, I’m sooooo much more busier starting Wednesday. Between studying, cleaning, teaching, playing, cleaning, bathing, feeding, laundry, did I say cleaning? I really just have little to no energy to go into the kitchen and prepare a meal.

Hubby (bna) picked up a pack of chicken breasts the other day. You know the simple boneless, skinless, comes with 4 in a pack. Well I did a pretty simple seasoning (all dry ingredients of course) and just placed the pieces in a freezer bag and plopped it in the fridge. I used the fridge to store it just so I’m not constantly freezing and thawing the same bag over and over again. Plus it was gonna be used up within the next 2 days.

My seasoning consisted of

  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Adobo seasoning

So here’s what Wednesday’s Dinner looked like … Day 1

Mushroom Chicken & Mushroom Alfredo

I used

  • 2/4 pieces of chicken
  • Half an onion – chopped
  • Tablespoon cilantro – chopped
  • A tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 diced tomato (no seeds)
  • 1 mushroom (your choice) – sliced thin
  • 1 bottle of Alfredo sauce (your choice)
  • 1 Can of Campbell’s cream of mushroom
  • Your choice of pasta
  • Salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Black pepper

Before I started I preheated my oven to 375 and I mixed my dry seasonings with my cilantro, onion, tomato and parsley

And I added just a tad more of my seasonings to my sliced mushrooms

With my breasts -the chicken’s that is… I took my two pieces and cut them in half- giving me 4 pieces. I did this for three reasons :

1. Hubby (bna) always says he wants two pieces but never finishes it … so these two pieces were actually one πŸ˜‰ little does he know

2. It saves me Chicken

3. It cooks much faster

I turned the heat on high and when my pan was hot enough, I added a splash of vegetable oil and swirled it around my pan to coat it. After I added my chicken and opened up the can of Cream of Mushroom.

I didn’t cook the meat all the way through as I just wanted to almost sear the top and bottom. So it was like 1 min on each side and then I tossed in my cream sauce.

I wanted to just coat the chicken in the sauce. When my chicken was finally covered, and evenly coated in this saucy mess, I transferred all of it (sauce and all) into a baking pan and shoved it into the oven.

In the same pot that my chicken came out of I added again, some vegetable oil and I tossed in my onion/ cilantro mix

I started boiling my water for my pasta. Adding some salt to the water, and when my boiling bubbles started picking up their rhythm, I tossed in my pasta. It was about a handful – for the 3 of us.

When my onions started to cook down and become translucent, I added in 1/2 a cup of water and let that come to a simmer. I then added my bottle of Alfredo sauce.

Once I added my Alfredo sauce and my pot returned to a simmer, I tossed in my mushrooms and extra seasonings and covered up my pot, for about 3-4 minutes while I strained my pasta.

By the time I finished straining my pasta, my sauce had thickened up and all that was left was to toss and sauce

Gave my pasta a good mix, incorporating the sauce into every part of this pan. By that time, my chicken was ready to come out of the oven.

Plate up and add that sprinkle of green just to make it look sooo much better!

The end result

It’s amazing what you can do in the kitchen. You take some random stuff that you think will work well together and that’s what you do. You make a gott’am beautful dish! The best part?

It only took about 30 mins!

But when hubby bna asks… you slaved over that damn stove all day momma!

Enjoy guys!

Help me; I have Chicken Skin!! And it’s not the fried kind

Although KFC sounds incredibly good right now – I am not talking about that.

Keratosis Pilaris – one of the most embarrassing , noticeable, skin irritations that I have personally had the “pleasure” to be irritated by.

I’ve had it ever since I could remember; I was so young and so embarrassed. Long sleeves and sweaters are my go to in the summer. As much as I want to wear T-shirt’s and tanks like every other woman, my skin really played, and still plays a part in discouraging me. My mother used to tell me it’s because I’m hairy, or because I’m gaining too much weight. Way to add to my self confidence mom! πŸ™„

What is keratosis? It’s annoying, that’s what. All humour aside Keratosis pilaris forms bumps. Bottom line. It’s not just a couple of bumps though. Think of a piece of sandpaper; all those rough bumps, localized together in a specific area. Now picture those bumps on your body. Mainly your arms. That’s where mine is.

Here. I’ll show you.

Freckle like spots but itchy, sore, sometimes red, and as rough as sandpaper.

I may have found something to help! I’ve done a lot of research on this and finally came across a product that seems to be helping.

Cerave SA cleanser and lotion –the two products ran me about $40.00 which ideally isn’t that bad. The duo looks like this

I know what you guys are thinking. My arm looks really bad – don’t tell me, I already know that. But the amount of relief these two products have given me… LORD THANK YOU. CERAVE, THANK YOU πŸ™πŸ½

After a week of using, my arms, though the bumps are still there, my arms are not itching and they are significantly smoother and softer. They’re not sore or itchy, and definitely not as rough as it usually is.

I have high hopes for these products – and hopefully they’ll be able to play a part in re-boosting my self confidence.

I will be posting picture and video updates on the progress my skin is making whilst using Cerave SA Cleasner and Lotion.

Tank tops, here I come!
