Straight to Your Head!

I chopped off all my hair because I wanted to look like Rachel Green from Friends πŸ’‡πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ’‡πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

I’m sitting in my car waiting for my girl to show up for our date and she’s running late πŸ™„ typical. So I figured I’d share a little story with you all… here we go.

So no one told you life was gonna be this way.. πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

It’s true. I wanted to rock the Rachel Green layered bob look after watching the series beginning to end for about the 5th time.

I got this

It wasn’t that bad but it was hard as hell to handle. It was dry, knotted – even though it was so short- it flipped this way and that, and it only looked good if it was a mess… which I hated because I’m one to constantly brush my hair. It took a lot of getting used to.

It was a blessing!! It still is a blessing Because I cut my hair so short and it only looked good it a natural messy state, I was able to turn the condition of my hair around within a couple of months.

This is how..

1. The hardest part and I’m proud of it! I completely stopped using heated products. No flat iron, curling iron, not even my blow dryer. I mean for my cousins wedding last month, I used my flat iron but that was the first time in 4-5 months! It was very hard at first because I was so used to waking up and getting ready; which included straightening my hair everyday. I completely knocked that off the charts!

2.Coconut oil.. DA GREASER So coconut oil has so many benefits. Number one being it is natural! Yaaayy!!! It’s full of vitamins K&E and because it’s so greasy and moisturizing, it does wonders to your scalp and even helps with dandruff!

3. My hair drops, when I brush it after a shower I could make a wig My hair is so prone to dropping. I shower, it drops, I towel dry, it drops, I brush it and it’s painful, tangled and guess what?! It drops. So I started actually deep conditioning when I wash my hair. I leave my conditioner in for as long as possible. It’s the last thing I rinse out and lemme tell you, SOOO MUCH EASIER TO BRUSH!

4. I’m officially hair colour blind GUYS I NEVER LISTENED TO ANYONE IN ALL MY LIFE ABOUT COLOURING MY HAIR The amount of damage from constantly colouring my hair was unbelievable and honestly was one of the main reasons that my hair could’ve been used to scrub a pot. It was that coarse and dry.

Okay guys guess what?!

That’s my cue guys I hope you enjoyed my little story on how I survived my Rachel Green look and how it actually benefited the life of my pili.

Late Night Chow

So I’m one of those people that instantly gets hungry or gets cravings just from watching a video. Well I just watched a video on a woman eating a bag of chow. For those of you who aren’t West Indian, chow is the best way (only way for me ) the Caribbean is able to preserve their fruit. Its a combination of sweet, salty and spicy – or hot, depending on how you like it. And tonight, I’m going to teach you how to anchor that odd craving.

Normally I do it with mangos, the sour, the better! But for the sake of availability its going to be pineapple!!

You will need:

  • 1 Pineapple
  • 1 Lime / lemon
  • Hot pepper – minced (I use scotch bonnet)
  • 4-5 cloves of fresh garlic – minced
  • A handful of shadowbenni or cilantro – minced
  • Salt to taste
  1. You want to start by peeling and chopping up your pineapple. Nice bite size chunks are perfect! Feel free to pull out the core, or don’t. Completely up to you
  2. Roll and squeeze 1 lime or lemon into the pineapple
  3. Add and mix in the garlic and cilantro and your desired amount of the pepper.
  4. Mix well, incorporating all flavours and elements
  5. Add salt to taste for your desire.

When your finished you will have something that looks like this

Stuffed Pasta in Under 15 Minutes!?!?

I LOVE COOKING! But lets be honest, it can be so time consuming and frankly, sometimes, you have to be in the mood to get up and do it, and I’m all for healthy meals but sometimes I feel like its way easier to just order in.

I ordered the night before because Amias was with my parents so I knew I couldn’t dare to order in tonight. I decided to raid my refrigerator. Who knew, I’d be able to make a full meal in less than 15 minutes!

Heres how I did it!

What you will need

4 Med-small Italian sausages (your choice in spice)

Half an Onion

1 Finely Chopped Mushroom

Handful of Roughly Chopped Cilantro

Handful Roughly Chopped Parsley

Your choice of Pasta Sauce ( I used Classico – tomato and pesto)

1 Pack of pre stuffed pasta ( your choice of filling)

I started off by boiling 2 of the sausages all the way through.

While that was cooking, I chopped my onion, mushroom, parsley and cilantro

I continued by de-casing the remaining two sausages – literally just ripped the casing off and squeezed out the ground sausage into a bowl. And I mixed it with my freshly cut veggies and herbs.

The boiling sausage was finished by the time I finished chopping and mixing . I gave my pan a quick rinse and added a bit of oil to start cooking my ground sausage

Once the sausage was finishing I tossed in my pre-stuffed pasta and chopped up and added in the boiled sausages

Topped off the pan with the pasta sauce and a splash of water after I tasted for salt. Covered my pot and I let it simmer for 5 minutes and took off the heat leaving on the lid so my pasta could steam well.

My finished product was beautiful, fast and full of flavour! All under 15 minutes!

Sprinking of parmesan and dry parsley ontop!
